Golf: 2007 Johnnie Walker Trophy was won by John McHale

The 2007 Johnnie Walker Trophy was this year contested by 62 No Med Golf members on Sunday the 18th March at the recently opened Don Julia Golf Club. It was a great day for golf with a warm sun and a light breeze and the recorded scores reflected these ideal conditions.
In first place winning the 2007 Johnnie Walker Trophy was John McHale with 42 No Stableford points.

This was John’s first victory after many attempts and he set a good example of concentration and consistency. With this victory John also qualified to play in this years Med Golf Masters at Valderrama in November and won the Longest Drive Trophy.


In second place was Denny To, with 40No Stableford points, who also won the Top Senior prize.
Third place was won by Gary Edwards with 37No points who also won the Top Team prize with his playing partner, Frank Samways with a combined Stableford score of 73 points.


The best gross score was recorded by George Desoisa with 79 shots.
The best gross score on the par 3’s was Dan Aldridge with level Par.
Other prize winners were.


Nearest the pin on hole -------No 3. Boyd Wood.
-----------------‘’------------- No 11. Les Cole.
-----------------‘’------------- No 12 Dave Maccaughream.
-----------------‘’ ------------ No 13. Frank Samways.
-----------------‘’------------- No 18. Josh Hunter.

Nearest the pin in two shots on hole No 9. Mike Edinburgh.
The Star Quality Trophy was won by Claudio Dasenzi.

The next Med Golf event is at Montemedio on the 15th of April.
